CLEARING OUT...

It’s time again to “clear out” of a semester.  We are in our last week of final exams and I need to turn in grades.  How did I end up with four chairs FULL of papers?  It’s time to clean.  Filter. Get rid of the clutter.  Actually the piles I see are not just from one semester, but I think from all three semesters of me teaching here in Ethiopia.  It’s time to purge all my files and folders. 


It’s a daunting task- but maybe when I’m finished- someone could visit and actually sit on one of my chairs.  What freedom there will be when the load is lighter in my book bag and the space is cleaned out in my living area and office!!!


Needing to do this has made me remember all over again the importance of constant “cleaning” and “clearing out of things.”  A clutter check is needed often.  Maybe because I grew up in the age of paper (the push to go “paperless” happened after I was through school)- I’ve realized I tend to hold onto to stuff WAY too long.

How often in my life do I also need to clear out the clutter…to purge the bulky, unnecessary things that can quickly fill my life?  OFTEN.  I need to check the things occupying space in my heart, mind and schedule- or I tend to just live in the clutter.

I constantly need a heart, mind, body, and schedule check often- to make sure I’m “living simply, so others can simply live.” (as my home church pastor puts it).  We often live with too much stuff.  Even our minds are busy contemplating the clutter, when there are greater things that we should be doing with our thoughts and time.

There’s so much we don’t need. And other people could live off things in our homes that we never even notice we have anymore.  And more than anything, what I’ve seen globally, is people need love. To know the real love of God and the truth of Savior who came to give them life. But our schedules are too cluttered to tell people.  Our minds to full with this and that to even see people we're passing on the streets or who might even be sitting right next to us at work.  

Our "loads" should not be that heavy. 

Check out these challenges from scripture…

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

1 John 2:15
Do not love the world or anything in the world.

So...how can we do a check to see if there is clutter that needs cleared out???

One, you can ask yourself some hard questions….

This past week- I made a list.  What do I have too much of or do too much of?
What do I not have enough of? Do enough of?

That’s a good place to start.


You can also simply ask God to reveal the areas to you. He can through His living word. Or any way He chooses.  He is the gardener.  He wants us to remain with Him, in Him, and help us grow and be effective in the work He’s commissioned us to do.

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

John 15:1-4
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Often too you know the areas where there is clutter. Those areas are maybe where you spend the most time or money. Maybe on the other end- they’re the areas or places you never go near because the mess behind the doors is too painful. Those places need cleaned out so you can move forward.  Where there’s stuff hidden. Where there’s stuff piled up.  Check there. And CLEAR IT OUT.

You can also ask your family or friends.  (those who are God followers, fellow believers, and truly love you and care about you). They will tell you if there are areas in your life that they think needs cleared or cleaned. Often you can’t see your own areas of clutter or over-indulgences when you’re in the mist of them.

2 Corinthians 8:13-15
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

In America, my home country, we’re often not fit but FAT in lifestyle.  We indulge in super-sized living. Our spending reflects our love for entertainment and comfort.  When most of the world lives without the basic necessities like food and water, we aim for the bigger flat screen TV or video game. 

The Hole in Our Gospel by Richard Stearns (the President of World Vision)- is a great book that points out some of these vast differences in how first world countries live compared to third world countries.  May our “gospel” not have a hole in it that makes the world critical of the news we have to share because of how we live our lives.


I’m constantly reminded too that our schedules can be cluttered.  And often with what looks “good” can keep you from what’s best.  For example, spending time at the gym for might look good for your health. A doctor might have even told you to do that.  But does it trump your spending time in prayer or time with your family or serving? Even working at church can be good but not if it trumps your just being with God.  Doing for Him and being with Him are different.  I think of Mary and Martha.

Luke 10:38-42
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.  She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.  But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

We need to share.  We need to not get attached to our clutter. We need to be content with what we have and stay mobile to move as God would have us.  We’re free to live and love and serve and go. Let’s not get tangled and immobilized.

Galatians 5:1; 7; 13-14
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.  For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.

Philippians 4:11-12
I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

2 Corinthians 9:6-11

2 Corinthians 8:1-7

For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.  And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.  So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.  But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

There’s nothing better than CLEARING OUT the unnecessary clutter AND CLEANING OUT the trash!

Psalm 32
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.  Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.  I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. May we live our lives well, in honor of our God!  Without clutter! Onward!

-Please pray for me as I clean and clear out of this semester, really three semesters of teaching. As I take time to rest between semesters- may God lead me in reflection on how I can maximize the days ahead.

--My Dad is going to have surgery this Wednesday, February 20.  This will be to attempt to mend the bones that are fracturing in his back and that are causing pain to his legs and affecting his mobility. His surgery will be at 9am. Please pray for him, my Mom, and the doctors!!! We know God has him!
-Continued praises for my friend Debelle’s wife- still at home with her family. Keep praying for her full restoration to health!
-Please continue to pray for my sister serving in the Czech Republic- that God will bless and keep her.
-Please pray for my schedule after February- that God’s perfect plan unfolds for how I can best serve.

KNOW GREATER LOVE

When students began taking exams this week, I couldn’t help but notice everyone wearing crosses around their necks.  I saw many of them during their exams clutching those crosses, even kissing them.  I’m sure they were praying for divine help for a good exam result.


This brought to my mind the cross and what Jesus did there…the ultimate demonstration of “love” that changed history.

Come to think of it…this week is a big week globally to think about “love” and sacrifice.

Many churches kicked off the season of LENT with Ash Wednesday last night…commemorating the 40 day countdown to Easter…

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent in the Western Christian calendar. Occurring 46 days before Easter, it is a moveable fast that can fall as early as February 4 and as late as March 10.

According to the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke; Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert, where he endured temptation by Satan. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of this 40-day period of prayer and fasting.

Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads as a reminder and celebration of human mortality, and as a sign of mourning and repentance to God. Many will take time the next 40 days to fast and pray.

And of course…in some countries, like my home country- the USA…it’s Valentines day today, a holiday celebrating love and friendship.

I’ve had some discussions with different students and people who have asked about the difference between “like” and “love”- which I have found very difficult to explain.

But the verse that keeps coming to mind for me about “true and ultimate love” is this…

John 15:
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

There is a “greater love.” 

And the questions I’ve been pondering for myself this week have been…

1.       Do I “KNOW” this greater love?
2.       And do I SHOW/SHARE/GIVE this greater love to others?

Knowing God deeply and intimately is what Jesus died to give us the opportunity to have and experience.

Yet, what took me a long time to realize is “knowing God” and “knowing about” God are two very different things.  I “know about” my President- Barrack Obama.  But have I actually ever met him? NO! 

Do I “KNOW” this greater love…that God is and has extended to me?  Have I embraced it?

Being “loved” by someone, really loved and valued- and feeling that, does something to you, doesn’t it? 
It puts a spring in your step, maybe some music in your soul, a smile on your face. There’s a confidence that is felt when someone believes in you.  Knows you deeply- even the not so good- yet values ALL of you and encourages and applauds your potential.  Wow.  That does so much. 

Considering that God Himself has shown us this huge overwhelming undeserved love…it should change everything for us!  Our confidence should soar.  Our smile should be huge. Our peace, our joy, and hope, our perspective- everything should be affected.

Is it that way me?

Is it for you???

Have I embraced the knowledge of that love…stay in it, walk in it? 

I can! We can!!!

1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 3:17-20
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

John 15:9-17
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.  If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

I’m convinced too….it’s impossible to deeply love another person if you haven’t first embraced this “greater love” of God.

To me, it’s much like the picture of the cross. There’s a key vertical part…connecting up- that is the base. And there’s a horizontal part- where it extends out.


I believe we must know and experience God’s love in our core- connected up vertically to Him. That is key. Connection to that “greater love” is available thanks to Jesus.

The amazing thing too about embracing this love of God…is we can love Him back.  Relationships are two-way!  Somewhere I read that the difference between infatuation and love is this: infatuation is content to just take.  But love isn’t…it wants to give back.  And even GIVE more than TAKE.

So what does this look like...this love we can give to God?

Again, I think of the cross.  It’s a surrender of will.  It’s a trust position towards God that you hold, even when it hurts. It’s a loyalty and commitment to hold that position and not move.  It’s saying…I love you most, I look to you first, I will trust you with what you ask me to do and to be where you want me to be.  It’s not connecting into other things for affirmation or security.  It’s covenant love!

Love is usually wrapped up in feelings.  But love is not a feeling...those are affected. But love is a CHOICE.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Psalm 108:3-4
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

So after you’re in this “love relationship” with God, receiving and giving to Him…then you’re in a position to extend this love out…God’s greater love to others.

What does that look like?

Well, in a world that seems to be short on this type of love…many people have maybe never seen it or experienced it.
People need this love, we all do!  It’s radical and sacrificial and often even undeserved. 

Check out these verses…

1 John 3:11-18
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.  Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.  Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.  Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.  If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?  Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

1 John 4:7-12
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us

John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1 Peter 1:22
love one another deeply, from the heart.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Proverbs 18:24
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother

Showing this greater love to another is putting the other person first.  It’s loving that person with God’s love.

This “greater love” is often tough love.  It might be saying the hard thing when needed. It may be backing away from someone if you know your attachment with them is not healthy. 

God can give wisdom, strength, and health to all relationships if He remains at the core. 

And it’s even loving those who you can’t in your own strength. Even your enemies, those who drive you crazy, God can help you love.

Matthew 5:44
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,…

Luke 6:32 
“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

May I experience God’s “greater love” in a deeper way this Lent season, even this Valentines week!

May I love Him back in a deeper and greater way that blesses Him!

And may I deeply love others with His arms, His words, His compassion, His mercy.  Saying...I will lay down my life for you.

God blesses us with others to travel with!
May we help each other as we go!
so honored to be in the lives of these students and more!
May my life show that I’m part of a redeemed story and bloodline who left heaven’s splendor and comfort…who took off royal robes and put on dying flesh and dusty sandals.  One who wrapped in a servant’s towel to love the least and lost. One who challenged the religious and pious and proud. One who chose to reveal His truth to the simple and poor and change the world through their lives.  One who laid down his life for His friends.  May I boldly show the world this “greater love” and follow the example Jesus left us.

Philippians 2:1-11
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,  then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

May you feel God’s love and extend God’s love this Valentines week and Lent season and beyond…wherever God has you!

Stuck in the Middle

I was reflecting this past week about life overall, when a game of pick-up futbol (soccer) here in Addis caught my attention.  A little guy was in the middle of his friends and they were running circles around him.  He could not get the ball…as hard as he tried.


And I had the thought…it’s no fun being “stuck in the middle.”

I began thinking again about life overall and those “in between” places that seem to be so challenging. 

It seems I’ve written about these places before.  When you’re “in between” jobs or relationships. 

When you’re “stuck in the middle” between fitness levels, or maybe hair styles, or dress/pant sizes. 

Or maybe when you’re between sickness or addiction and a full recovery. 

Those “in between” times are always humbling. 

This “stuck in the middle time” is like being in a hallway of sorts.  You haven’t arrived to the next place yet.  Maybe no doors are visible or maybe none are open. 

And really “the game” seems largely out of your control. It’s up to the doctor’s report or an open door.  Someone has to pass you a chance or maybe just time has to pass in general. 

Being “stuck” in the middle can be frustrating and downright exhausting. 

What can you do when you’re “stuck in the middle”?

I was thinking of my Dad who in the past year…has seemed to get into a “middle” place in his health.  His back and neck and legs began doing weird things…and he’s been to doctors numerous times to tell him how to manage or if a cure is even possible.  I know it’s been tiring and frustrating. But what has amazed me about my Dad has been his response.  Basically his whole mobility has been affected.  And for my Dad who loves to walk and golf and serve and shake the hands of little people…it has been a huge challenge.

So, how has my Dad responded? Remarkably- he has smiled and has kept good humor!!!

He has gotten himself some different canes and walking sticks to help him.  At church, he’s gotten a chair to sit on so he can still shake the hands of the little kids and their parents going to classes.   

That is amazing and inspiring “stuck in the middle” activity!!!!  I’m so proud of my Dad! He’s my hero!

I think of others who have been “stuck in the middle” of some sort.  Nelson Mandela is a hero on this continent.  He was stuck in prison for 27 years.  That’s a long stuck.  


What did he do? He remained active!  He read books, got in shape physically, even earned a degree!

Nelson Mandela was imprisoned  for 27 years. As a black political prisoner, he received the lowest level of treatment. However, he was able to earn a Bachelor of Law degree through a University of London correspondence program while incarcerated.


 Another article about him said this…

The Prisoner...Nelson Mandela…was confined to a small cell, the floor was his bed, and he used a bucket for a toilet.  He was forced to do hard labor in a quarry. He was allowed one visitor a year for 30 minutes. He could write and receive one letter every six months. But Robben Island became the crucible which transformed him. Through his intelligence, charm and dignified defiance, Mandela eventually bent even the most brutal prison officials to his will, assumed leadership over his jailed comrades and became the master of his own prison. He emerged from it the mature leader who would fight and win the great political battles that would create a new democratic South Africa.

I think of others who were in some “stuck in the middle places.”

I think of Joseph in the Bible who was sold into slavery by his brothers.  He became a slave-servant, even a prisoner.  But God was with Him….and would use him to save his family and Egypt during seven years of famine.

Genesis 39:1-6; 20-23; Genesis 50:19-20
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did,  Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant.

…while Joseph was in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.  So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.  The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.

Do not be afraid, Joseph said to his brothers. you intended to harm me, but God intended it for the good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

I think of Paul and Silas in prison.  How did they respond to getting stuck?

Acts 16:22-25
The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods.  After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

What did Peter do when he and the disciples were stuck in the storm?

Matthew 14:24-29
…the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”   “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” he said.  Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 

WOW.  Great things can happen in that “stuck in the middle time.” 

And I think many people are in that waiting time…are in that stuck place for the next door to open or diagnosis to be revealed or relationship to happen. 

And really all of us are really “in between” here and home with God…

Romans 8:18-21
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.  For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.  For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that  the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.  We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.  Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.  For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?  But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently...

So what can we do while we wait?

I believe there are many things we can do.  Some key things are:

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

And what I’ve realized is that some of the greatest ministry that you can do is in the hallways of your life.

When you’re “stuck in the middle”- you run into others stuck too. And God can use you greatly.

God can also do His greatest molding-teaching in you when you’re stuck in the middle.  There’s an almost desperation present in you that can lead to humility and a dependency and trust that can be formed in that “middle time.”

So fear not- being stuck in the middle! God has plan, a big plan for your good!!!!!

-A big praise that my Ethiopian work permit and residence visa both were renewed successfully!
-A big praise for my friend Debelle’s wife- who seems to be improving more and more and is now out of the hospital.
-My Dad finally received a diagnosis for the new pain he’s been feeling in his back.  Him and my Mom are still researching his options. Please continue to pray for his healing and the best steps forward.
-Our current school semester is winding down.  Please pray for staff and students as we finish the semester and go into final exams- that all will go well.
-Please continue to pray for my sister’s new schedule- in the Czech Republic. She’s added some new things to her schedule this year, one new thing is teaching at a high school. Pray for her health, courage, and relationship-building.
-Please pray for my schedule after February- that God’s perfect plan unfolds for how I can best serve.
-Pray for many people serving international during this time and those serving soon- that God will protect and give courage.  (a special prayer for my friend Daniel Bachman serving at Tenwik Hospital in Kenya, excited to see him visit here at the end of February)
